Magally was born in the vibrant city of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, where the ​Maas River meets modernity. Infused with her Capeverdean roots’ rich, ​diverse heritage, she grew to see the world through a unique lens. Today, ​Magally translates this unique perspective into compelling narratives from her ​current base in Los Angeles. She is a celebrated writer, director, and producer, ​recognized for her scholarly excellence with two HFPA Cinema & TV ​Fellowships and a prestigious CTE Spotlight award for academic excellence in ​cinema.

Magally’s journey in storytelling is marked by her adaptability and ​collaborative prowess. Within the bustling dynamics of the writers’ room, she ​has flourished, particularly noted for her role in crafting the multi-cam scene ​in the third episode of Corridor Of Dreams (2024), a psychological drama ​limited series slated for fall 2024 release. Her ability to weave intricate ​narratives with her peers highlighted her capacity to meld minds and talents.

Magally’s scriptwriting shines in The Powder Room (2023), her dark comedy that emerged from the 2023 ​student submissions. Chosen for development by a panel of industry and academic experts, it was not only ​brought to life under her directorial gaze but also set the stage for a potential hour-long series expansion. ​Currently, Magally is steering this project through post-production, promising to add another layer to her ​evolving narrative canvas, while the script won the award for Best Screenplay at the 2024 LACC Cinema & TV ​Awards.

Most recently, Magally embarked on the pilot of Corridor Of Dreams, bringing ​to life her vision through a meticulously crafted lookbook that won her the ​director’s chair. Her directorial approach is distinctive, characterized by an ​innovative blend of cinematography and sound design that ensures a visceral, ​subjective experience for viewers.
